Dr Mona Arekat Qualifications / Certifications
Dr Mona Arekat is a striking example of the new generation of high caliber Bahraini physicians now utilizing their highly prized skills obtained overseas to the benefit of Bahrain's healthcare system. Dr Arekat is keen to apply in Bahrain the skills she learned at Joslin's state-of-the-art training facilities in the US, which were established some 23 years before insulin was invented. Dr Arekat was awarded the Best Resident in Outpatient Medical Clinics from the Upstate Medical Universtiy. After three years on a Internal Medicine residency at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, she sat for the American Boards of Internal Medicine. This was followed by a two year fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the JDC in Syracuse. |

Dr Nasreen Al Sayed Qualifications / Certifications
Dr Nasreen Al Sayed graduated as bachelor of Basic Medical S and Doctor of Medicine with Distinction from the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, at the AGU in Bahrain. Following her internship at Salmaniya Hospital in Bahrain, she went to the USA for her residency in Internal Medicine at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Wayne University, Detroit Medical Center, and became board certified in Internal Medicine in 2000. Following her return to Bahrain, Dr Al-Sayed worked as a specialist in internal medicine at the American Mission Hospital and Bahrian Specialist Hospital before joining JDC. |

Dr Waleed Khairallah Dr. Waleed Khairallah is an Internist/endocrinologist, graduate of the American University of Beirut with advanced training and courses in Europe and the USA. Dr. Khairallah brings to GDSC a new outlook and fresh blood with a wealth of new ideas for ventures in the area of fitness, healthy life styles and treatment modalities of diabetes, endocrine disorders, obesity, hypertension and metabolic disorders. |

Dr Wiam Hussein Qualifications / Certifications
Dr Wiam has done his training in the USA. After completing Internal medicine residency program and receiving the Best Resident award, he continued his training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in one of the Leading Centers in the USA, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he received multiple awards including a national award in USA for his research and publications in his field. He returned to the Gulf area in 1998 and has established world class center for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Osteoporosis in Saudi Arabia. He has more than 10 years of experience in USA and in the Gulf area. He comes to us with extensive experience in Thyroid diseases and cancer, Pituitary disorders, Obesity, Osteoporosis, Hirsutism, Hyperlipidemia as well as Diabetes, Insulin Pumps and all Endocrine disorders in adults.

Madhuri Dane
Ms. Madhuri Dane comes to Joslin with her 15 years of experience in the Gulf region. Organizations she worked include Kuwait Society for Handicapped, Kuwait and Salmaniya Medical Complex, Kingdom Of Bahrain. Ms. Madhuri leads the center’s Exercise Physiotherapy Unit which is the only center in the region catering to diabetic as well as pre-diabetic population. As a certified diabetic educator from Joslin Diabetes USA,she conducts individual and group therapy exercise sessions for the diabetic patients to educate and demonstrate them the importance of exercise. |
